Throughout my life, I was the go-to person when someone was having a hard time or needed advice. I loved caring for family and friends, and thought about how I could use my strengths once I got to college.
I found a path in psychology. I worked in various research labs studying different aspects of romantic relationships, such as communication, the impact of long-distance, and even the impact of how people spoke about their relationship.
Ultimately, I wanted to work with clients beyond the data. I started working towards becoming a clinical therapist, and have found a wonderful balance of learning about people, and applying that knowledge every day.
I specialize in helping adults with disordered eating or eating disorders, including their relationships with food, their body, movement, and self-esteem. I love working with people that are curious about these relationships and how they can achieve full health. I practice from a non-diet, Health at Every Size (HAES) informed, and trauma-informed perspective.
I also find fulfillment in working with people struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, or stressful life transitions. In Los Angeles, it can feel like everyone has it together except you. I can help you live a meaningful life, aligned with your values and goals.
I also enjoy couples therapy with couples who are ready to strengthen their relationship, learn new communication skills, and be a teammate with their partner. I work with couples in two ways, by teaching concrete coping and communication skills, as well as by sharing the underlying emotions with each other.
Providing a safe and supportive space for LGBTQIA+ people is also of the utmost importance. I am here as an active ally.
I enjoy spending time in nature, especially hiking through Redwood forests. I also teach in a therapy training program.
Reaching out for therapy can often be the hardest part. Feel free to email or call, whichever is more comfortable.
I offer a free phone consultation to see if we are the right fit.
I want to ensure you get what you need out of therapy experience, even if that includes providing referrals to a therapist that may be a better fit.
You already have enough stress in your life, therapy can help you through it.
You can book a time to chat with me below. I look forward to hearing from you.
